Directorate of Criminal Investigation Director Kinoti on Tuesday morning met women leaders at DCI Headquarters where they discussed issues related to Gender Based Violence.
The meeting was spearheaded by Nairobi City County Women Rep Hon Esther Passaris and was occasioned by the recent rise of rape cases in the country.
The DCI boss assured the leaders that the government will take tough action to prevent crimes against women. He also assured them that they would “make all possible efforts to ensure security and safety of women in this country.”
The team agreed that a Civic Education on Gender Based Violence will be carried out soon and the Child Protection Unit be devolved to Regions to ensure quick Investigation and Prosecution of child related cases.
There has been outrage across the country over increased rape cases.
