Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu today held a consultative meeting with Kitui elected parliamentarians at a Nairobi hotel, to agree on common position on the mining of Minerals in Kitui County.
In attendance was, Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio, Women Rep Irene Kasalu, Kitui central MP Makali Mulu, Kitui South MP Dr Rachael Kaki, Mboni Mwalika Kitui Rural, Edith Nyenze MP Kitui West, Charles Nguna-Mwingi west and Nzengu Malili-Mwingi North.
The meeting comes a day ahead of a scheduled meeting with the Minister for Petroleum and Mining John Munyes and licensed mining firms.
They were firming up resolutions made on May 4,2018 during the Mining stakeholders Conference held in Kitui.
After consultations, they all agreed on a common stand, which they embargoed till tomorrow during the meeting with Mr Munyes.
The Governor was accompanied by CECM Environment John Makau, Patrick Musau Kuvasila CECM Tourism, Environment Chief officer Kioko Kiilu, Mr Nene Nzyuko the Head of the Manifesto Implementation Unit and Nzungi Ngwele, the Policy Advisor to the Governor.
