Deputy president william Ruto was today denied a chance to meet retired president Daniel arap Moi when he visited his kabarak home.
According to details shared to the countylens.com newsdesk, DP Ruto accompanied by Energy Cabinet secretary Charles Keter and Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut flew incognito aboard a Kenya pipeline chopper to Moi’s Kabarak home without appointment, On arrival they were welcomed and served with lunch but were not allowed to see Mzee moi.
The office of the former president Moi later issued a press brief saying that mzee moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors and the Deputy president couldn’t see him.
The communication team further said that mzee moi had agreed to meet Ruto at the convenient time another day.
“Deputy President William Ruto today visited the former president. Mr Ruto and his team were welcomed and had lunch at Mzee’s Kabarak home.
“Unfortunately, this coincided with the time Mzee Moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors. Mzee Moi agreed to meet him at a convenient time another day in the very near future,” read the statement.
Moi’s son Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was away in Nairobi.
In Mid-April, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga meet and held talks with retired President Daniel arap Moi at his Kabarak Home a move political analysts said was shifting the President Uhuru 2022 succession politics.
